Your questions, answered

Safety & Standards
Is cosmetic surgery in Albania safe?
Yes. Our network is vetted: every surgeon is EU-trained, board-certified, and insured, operating in accredited clinics with modern operating theatres and on-site anaesthesiology. We audit credentials annually and remove any provider whose outcomes slip.
What qualifications do the surgeons have?
They're registered with the Albanian Order of Physicians and, where applicable, hold European specialty board memberships (ESPRAS, DGPRÄC, AICPE, ISAPS). Many trained and practised in Italy, Germany, Austria or the UK before returning to Albania.
What if something goes wrong?
Every surgeon carries professional malpractice insurance. We remain in contact for 12 months post-op and coordinate any necessary follow-up, including local revision where appropriate. Serious adverse events are rare — but we're here if they happen.
How are clinics accredited?
Our partner clinics are licensed by the Albanian Ministry of Health and — in most cases — hold ISO 9001 or equivalent accreditation for their operating theatres and sterilisation protocols.
Costs & Pricing
How much can I save versus home?
Typically 60–70%, even after flights and hotel are included. A rhinoplasty quoted at £6,000 in London is around €2,200 with us; breast augmentation from €3,200 vs €7,500+ in Germany; FUE hair transplant from €1,500 vs €5,000+ in the UK.
Is the quote all-inclusive?
Yes. Our quotes cover surgeon fees, anaesthesia, all clinic fees, medication, a premium 4★ hotel, airport transfers, dedicated coordinator, and all in-clinic follow-ups. Flights are separate.
How do I pay?
A deposit secures your slot. The balance is paid at the clinic on arrival, before surgery. We accept bank transfer, card and — at some clinics — cash. We do not hold your payment.
Are there any hidden costs?
No. If it's not in the written quote, you don't pay for it. Occasionally optional upgrades (premium implants, extra nights) are offered — always discussed in advance.
The Journey
How long should I stay?
Most procedures require 5–10 days: 1–2 days for consultation and pre-op tests, the surgery day, and 3–7 days of recovery before fitness-to-fly clearance. Hair transplants typically 3–4 days; rhinoplasty 7–10; full body contouring 10–14.
Do I need someone to travel with me?
Not mandatory, but recommended for major body procedures. Many patients travel alone and use our coordinator as their in-country support. For breast or abdominal surgery we strongly suggest bringing a companion.
What's the flight situation?
Tirana International (TIA) has direct flights from London, Rome, Milan, Berlin, Vienna, Munich, Düsseldorf, Frankfurt, Paris, Zurich, Amsterdam and most EU capitals. Flight time from London is ~3 hours.
Do I need a visa?
EU and UK passport holders do not need a visa for stays up to 90 days. Most other Western passports enjoy similar visa-free access — we'll confirm based on your nationality.
Recovery & Aftercare
What does aftercare look like?
In-clinic check-ups before you fly home, then scheduled video follow-ups with your surgeon (typically at 1 week, 1 month, 3 months, 6 months and 12 months). WhatsApp access to your coordinator throughout.
Can I combine surgery with a holiday?
After your fitness-to-fly clearance, yes — Albania's Adriatic and Ionian coasts are perfect for gentle recovery. We'd suggest keeping strenuous activity to a minimum for the first 2–3 weeks, regardless of procedure.
What if I need a revision?
Minor revisions — if attributable to the original surgery and within 12 months — are typically covered by the surgeon at no cost to you. We coordinate logistics and return travel.
